Kompersjon (fra engelsk compersion)
Kompersjon er kjærlighet som oppstår når en person opplever glede i hans eller hennes kjærestes lykke med et annet menneske. Det er en form for empati, gleden over at en elsket opplever noe godt i hans eller hennes liv. Det trenger ikke å være seksuelt. Dette skiller det fra den erotiske opphisselsen som eventuelt oppstår ved å se en annen person, eller personer i seksuell aktivitet, som kalles voyeurisme.
Å føle kompersjon for første gang er noen ganger beskrevet som skremmende og desorienterende fordi det løper i motsatt retning av den sjalusien de fleste kulturer forventer at man skal føle i slike situasjoner.
Uttrykket “Compersion” ble opprinnelig skapt av bofellesskapet Kerista som praktiserte flertrofasthet(polyfidelity), og er en av de grunnleggende verdier i polyamori.
